Scottish ESEA Research Project - Community Questionnaire
  • Scottish ESEA Research Project - Community Questionnaire

  • Hello!

My name is Hannah Low and I am the current Dramaturgy Fellow at the National Theatre of Scotland as part of their new Change Making Programme, supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.

Over the course of my fellowship I am conducting a self led research project that explores how the theatre sector can identify, empower and amplify East and Southeast Asian voices within Scotland’s cultural landscape, in partnership with ESEA Creatives Scotland.

This survey asks about your experiences with theatre in Scotland, as a person with East or Southeast Asain heritage, so that I can gain further insight into how ESEA artists and communities are currently engaging with the sector.

You don’t need to enjoy theatre or have any prior knowledge of it to take part. So whether you’ve been to see hundreds of shows, are curious about the sector, or have never been interested in theatre at all – I would love to have your input.

    Just so you know:
    • The survey takes about 5–7 minutes to complete.
    • Your responses are completely confidential.
    • You can skip any question you don’t want to answer.
    • At the end, you have the option to sign up to take part in a short, voluntary 1-to-1 interview (online or in person).

If you have any questions or need the questionnaire in an alternative format (such as large print, translations, or audio) please contact me at: Hannah.low@nationaltheatrescotland.com

Thank you so much for taking the time to fill out this questionnaire! Your thoughts are invaluble to my research and play a huge part in opening up the conversation around the importance of highlighting, supporting and celebrating the experiences and stories of East and Southeast Asian communties living in Scotland today.
